Superdry India · December 2025 Brand Launch SoCheers

Positioning Superdry Sport for India.

For the everyday mover, not the elite athlete.

Superdry Sport entered India in a category dominated by Nike, Adidas, Puma — performance brands with deep credibility and ad spends to match. The complication: Superdry was perceived as fashion-led, the new line was premium-priced, and the rules of the game ran on athletic credentials we weren't built to claim. The opportunity sat in a cultural shift we'd been watching — among urban millennials and Gen Z, fitness had stopped being a function. It had become an extension of identity.

The bet.

Position away from elite performance, towards movement across life. Most people in this category aren't pro athletes — they're integrating motion into work, travel, social, the everyday. We showed up for that audience: movement as personal expression, self-driven, whatever drives the person. Not the sport. The person.

Chase What Drives You.

The launch film. Lakshya Lalwani and Rasha Thadani — not athletes, characters moving on their own motivation. Not performance ambition. Everyday ambition.

Out in market.

The platform extended across OOH and print — billboards in the brand's flagship cities, a full-page in The Sunday Times of India headlining the category claim: performance has a new definition.
